Plant hormones cytokinins and ethylene modulate key developmental responses in Arabidopsis. The importance of cytokinin-ethylene signaling crosstalk has been proposed, however, the experimental evidence is still incomplete. Our manuscript Zdarska et al. report and specify how signaling inputs from both hormones control the cell differentiation of the root growth.
